introduction to film

in the first lesson we watched a film called The Filth And The Fury, witch was a punk film about the life of the Sex Pistols. The documentary had lots of raw footage from their gigs and sets with cutaways to the band members in the present day in interviews.

The film was shot i various ways ranging from archive footage to points of view and present day shots.
Following this we were then showed to use a super 8 camera with tutorials on film, aspect ratio and frame rates. I found this very interesting because i have a passion for films and making movies and to have lessons on how to use these different types of cameras was a great experience.
In the lessons we learnt about progression of quality in film and TV, the picture below shows the aspect ratios of HD TV. After this there is 2K witch has a resolution of 2048x1080, and then there is 4k with an aspect ratio of 4096x2160 these images are unbelievably sharp.
